Who makes the magic?

"Source Voting is just so exciting to me. Candidate information has always been so difficult to find, and the information for the voting process so disorganized, that I’ve never wanted to mess with any of it. I’m really excited to have been part of creating a solution that empowers other people like me with the information and the drive to make a difference in both big and small elections."

"Within my generation in particular, I’ve noticed a growing sense of disillusionment with the electoral process and it is affecting our overall voter turnout as a country. This, in turn, diminishes the power of our voice and the effectiveness of our democracy. We at Source see this problem as a result of the chaotic way that the modern person consumes necessary political information; the endless news reports and articles that are filtered through exhausting biases have taken a toll on the national electoral confidence. It’s so refreshing to work for a company that’s rekindling the political fire in those people that’ve been lost to this disillusionment in a genuine and practical way."

"My favorite aspect of Source Voting is that the candidate and their team have complete control of their profile and the content that is uploaded. I have always had a deep desire to understand candidates on a more personal level verses what the media filters and attempts to sway me to believe. Not only does our platform truly allow voters to see where candidates stand on certain issues but it also puts the entire district in one place- it doesn't get easier than that!"

"I like Source Voting because we are a close knit group of people striving towards a common goal. Our purpose is to make getting to know your candidates as simplistic as possible. I enjoy being a part of a team that is enthusiastic about bringing a new tech based platform into the election process. I think when people know their candidates in a more human way they are more likely to vote and be involved in politics."

"I’ve always had an interest in politics, but never felt like I had a resource that could educate me and compel me to get out to the polls and vote. With Source Voting, I can see all of the candidates in my area and know what they stand for and their platforms. I’m hoping that this new site will help voters all over the country become more proactive in electing the best possible candidates for the job so that we can have a government that best reflects us and our desires and beliefs."

Kevin Brown

CEO/Founder

"I began this company because I felt there were many unmet areas of need for high quality, cost effective software. Source Voting is our first major projects towards that end.

My dream for Source Voting is that it serves both voters and candidates by delivering the following:

Give candidates a direct voice to voters, unfiltered by the media.

Be one place where voters can compare and contrast what candidates have to say, at a time convenient to them in their busy lives.

Set aside our personal beliefs (if any) about who should be in office and let the candidates speak for themselves, so voters can make their own decisions.

Deliver this information in video format which is easily accessible voters and the next best thing to sitting with the voter one on one.

Give candidates the time and space to tell us about themselves and why they will best represent us, without unduly burdening them by making their already expensive campaign even more expensive."

FAQ's

What is Source Voting?

Source voting was designed as a platform to give candidates a place to make their message available directly to voters in video form, and for voters to have a central place to find messages from all of their candidates.

Is Source Voting affiliated with any political party or parties?

While we each have our own, very different political ideologies, we as a team have come together for the common purpose of empowering voters with information and giving candidates a cheaper, more efficient method of getting their message out. We designed the platform to be unbiased and unfiltered, so what you're getting is the raw message.

How much does Source Voting cost?

Source Voting will always be free for voters, and for the 2018 election cycle, will be free to the federal legislative candidates we're marketing to. We're still planning our pricing model for 2019 and 2020, which will depend on a large number of factors, but we are very passionate about keeping our platform a cost effective solution for campaigns.

Do you keep or sell any of my information?

Privacy has been an important issue lately, with social media companies attracting a lot of heat for selling voter information to candidates. We believe that who you vote for is your business, and as we do collect non-identifying information to improve your experience, we don't give or sell any information to any campaigns or political parties.

What office races are you currently covering? What are you covering in the future?

We are currently covering federal legislative elections for the 2018 election cycle. We plan to focus on state and federal elections for 2019 and want to cover everything from local school board elections up to the presidency by 2020.

How are you attracting voters to the site and to specific candidate pages?

We have a number of strategies of positioning ourselves to be visible to as many voters as possible, most of them focusing on search engine optimization, helpful blog writing, and tasteful Facebook ads. We're working through area by area, to make sure that the voters we introduce to our site have the best experience possible with the best turnout from candidates in an area that are sharing their message.

Can users comment on videos?

We're currently aggressively growing our features for the Source Voting platform. We don't allow commenting yet, but for feature suggestions like this or any others, don't hesitate to reach out to us on our Contact Us form.
